Our Team

Abby Billups is the Case Manager for three employment partnership programs, including the Summit County NEXT Initiative. Her primary role is to assist adult clients with social support needs and overcome employment barriers.  Before her current role, Abby served as a computer trainer and supported various other Akron Urban League programs and initiatives over the past 11 years.

Before joining the Akron Urban League, Abby was a baker for a prominent restaurant and an experienced call center customer service professional. She holds an A.A. in Counseling Ministry of Full Gospel from Light of Faith Bible College in Akron, Ohio.

Originally a native from Chih, Mexico, Abby resides in Akron, Ohio, with her husband. She and her husband are co-founders and co-pastors of a bilingual church, Freedom In Truth Church. Abby serves as a Spanish translator who enjoys helping people, working in the ministry, community services, and spending time with her family.
